You thought Angelina Jolie was pretty? Well, Chanel skipped her this year and chose Brad Pitt to represent their Chanel No. 5 perfume. This is the first time they've chosen a man to represent their perfume - ever in history.

It's no surprise to see Brad Pitt chosen out of all the male celebrities, but will it work? Much of the information is still hush hush but he's to shoot his first ad in London this week.

Brad Pitt older but iconic

Brad Pitt is older now and not necessarily the "hot" guy of the year any longer but he definitely still has much respect as an unforgettable icon. It's probably a smart move given that Chanel has a good reputation with older female customers who remember Brad Pitt in their youth as legendary.

The woman who represented the perfume before Brad Pitt were Nicole Kidman, Vanessa Paradis, Audrey Tautou, Ali MacGraw and Lauren Hutton.

Would this tactic work on men?

Maybe. Alyssa Milano was a hot icon back in the 80's, but would men want to see her older face splattered on a new CK cologne? Not too sure. It might work in some weird, creepy way :)

Nothing will fail with Brad Pitt promoting it lol. But idk about this tactic not working on men. I think a lot of guys still find women like Alyssa Milano, Jennifer Aniston, JLo, and many other celebrity women in their 40s still attractive. They all look amazing for their age.

Yea I definitely think Brad Pitt still has it in him! ;) I think these top notch brands like chanel and others want to use older celebrities to represent their brand because there are no others like them! there could only be 1 Brad Pitt! Nice article :)

Brad Pitt is still the king. I think girls would like to see a male celebrity on a product.
