We've all been waiting for the season premiere of Breaking Bad and it's finally here. Walter White's awesome winning streak continues on this episode titled "Live Free or Die." Here are the juicy moments you need to know about.
Walter old as hell with crazy machine gun
It starts off with a scene of Walter looking completely different, old as hell, on his 50th birthday in a Denny's in New Hampshire.
This scene is in the future. He makes the number 50 using the bacon in his dish. His name was changed because the waitress calls him "Mr. Lamberg."
He purchases an m60 machine gun from the guy he bought his original gun from in a previous episode. Not sure why he needs a machine gun. Time will tell what's happening here.
Skyler scared of Walter
The story continues with where it left off at the season finale, Skyler's conversation with Walter after he killed Gus.
Later on that night when Walter comes home you'd think Skyler would hug him and show him some love but instead she's mean and cold like she usually is and is acting all weird. When he asks her what's wrong she says,
"I am relieved... and scared" - Skyler
"Scared? Of what?" - Walter
".... scared of you." - Skyler
It seems like Walter can never get a break from his bitch wife. But I am really proud of Walter for his apparent change in character. He looks less scared and more confident.
Mike wants to kill Walter
When Walter and Jesse go to visit Mike after Gus's death they want him to know about the video recordings left behind that the DEA found and want his help to retrieve them. But initially all Mike wanted to do was kill Walter.
He pulls out his gun on him and is about to shoot until Jesse stands in his way and says,
"If you kill him, you have to kill me."
Everyone's anger towards Walter pisses me off because why is he particularly upset at Walter and not Jesse? Jesse took part in the killing of Gus too.
Using magnetic waves to destroy Gus's laptop
Jesse comes up with an idea to use magnets to destroy the laptop in the evidence room. Walter creates something in the junkyard to attract the laptop with a really strong magnet and smash it against the wall. It works and that's the plan they use.
They drive a truck and park it in front of the evidence room and use a remote control to send magnetic waves into the room. Sure enough, the evidence gets smashed and we find out that the laptop was indeed broken. Their truck flips over from the magnetic waves and right before the agents could find them they got away in a getaway car with Mike.
I thought this concept was a little far reaching for reality but it's ok I guess. The hard drive could still be in tact even if the external laptop body is cracked. Either way, it seems that there's still possibility of there being other information written on the latptop because while the agent was reading off the damages to each piece of evidence he pulled back a photo and found writing they had not documented. It left me thinking that they're might be some other important pieces of information on the laptop.
Beneke is still alive
At first we all thought Beneke was dead, but it turns out he lives after the head accident. Last season, he fell while attempting to run away from the two men Skyler sent to his home to threaten him to sign the check to pay his IRS bill with the money she gave him.
Skyler goes to visit him and he looks pretty bad. But he immediately says that didn't say anything and that he would never. He seems sincere. I really feel sorry for him. I was thinking Bitch how are you even going to apologize for what you did. He says,
"I'll never breathe one word of this." Beneke
Along with Walter, Skyler seems to be getting good at this game too.
Mike and Walter exchange looks
I found it really interesting to see how Walter starts to get tough, gain confidence and not let people speak to him in a threatening way.
We all know Mike can be nasty. When Mike constantly pokes at Wlater about whether or not the evidence was really damaged Walter tells him that it is.
"Am I supposed to take that on faith? How do I know" - Mike
"Because I say so." - Walter
I love it. Mike then gives him this look in the rearview mirror and Walter looks back like what bitch I'm the boss. Walter White is definitely transforming and is WAY more confident. which I'm glad about.
Walter threatens Saul
Even with Saul , Walter gets really bold.
They get into an argument and Walter says:
"Ethically, did you just use that word in a sentence? You're not Clarence Daryl. You're a two bit bus bench lawyer" - Walter
"Take that thing and get the hell out of here. You and me we're done." - Saul
Walter then gets up and approaches him slowly and says:
"We're done when I say we're done." - Walter
Now we see Walter's complete transformation. I'm sick and tired of everyone messing with Walter. It's like everyone around him is dirty but when he does things they overreact.
Walter poisoned Brock?
We also realize in this scene that Walter did in fact play the trick on Jesse. Apparently he had Sauls teal the cigarette from Jesse to make him think Gus poisoned Brock in last season's finale. He had the kid take the Lily of the Valley that was growing in the backyard. This is confirmed for me earlier in the episode when he ook the Lily of the Valley plant with him and put it in the trunk of his car when he was removing evidence in his house.
To me I'm cool with it if he did it because he did it for the right reasons. Jesse was betraying him anyway and didn't have the guts to stand up to Saul. Better yet he was standing by Gus's side, stole Walter's formula and used it with Saul against Walter knowing that Gus was going to get rid of Walter. That's evil as hell. I'm tired of Jesse constantly thinking like Walter destroyed his life somehow.
